I started this page because poor weight gain is the common issue that parents of infants and early toddlers ask me about. Almost daily, or several times a day, I will see poor weight gaining babies and toddlers. As a primary pediatrician practicing at the University of Chicago affiliated clinic for the last several years, I’m struggling to work with parents to handle poor weight gain of their babies and toddlers. It is very difficult sometimes and I can see how frustrated the parents feel. I did send some babies and toddlers to the specialists, but the majority of them turned out to have no medical problems. I’m working and also learning from every case of poor weight gain daily. From now on, I will present these cases here for patient and medical education. I would like to thank all the parents, whose support makes this page possible.
