  • Unlicensed or revoked drive license
  • Lack of drive experience
  • Not use safety belts
  • Distracted by using cell phones, talking, eating, drinking, being busy for music
  • Speeding driving
  • Alcohol use
  • Fatigue
  • Use illicit drugs
  • Use medications
  • Nighttime driving and transporting other teens after parties
  • Know and follow start laws
  • Knowing high-risk situations
  • Use seat belt all the time
  • Don’t distract with calling by cell phones, talking, eating, drinking, or being busy for music when driving
  • No speeding driving
  • No driving after you drink alcohol
  • No driving when you are very tired
  • Not use illicit drugs
  • Check medications’ side effects
  • Avoid nighttime driving
   
 

For Parents

  • Review teen driving laws with your child
  • Make a contract with your child and enhance the rule for driving
  • Present your expectations for your child’s driving
  • Help your child identify risks of MVA and make plan to avoid them
  • Serve as a role model for safe driving.
  • Assure that the vehicle is safe
  • Control access to the vehicle and set family restrictions
