Math may be, to some people, a boring and mind deadening subject, but math can be used to do many amazing things from just making you do equations to launching a man into space. Math involves changes, quantity, space, and structure. Figuring out how many minutes until you are considered late to class, how many eggs you need to bake cookies, and just calculating how large a room is can be considered using math. After all, math is everywhere. There are many types of math. First, math is divided into quantity, structure, change, space, foundations and philosophy, logic, discrete mathematics, and applied mathematics. Those types of math deal with different topics such as space math deals with geometry, or the study of shapes, size, and position of figures. In middle school, students are taught geometry, fractions, pre-algebra, and even algebra. Math that is taught in elementary school and middle school is used as the basics for more complicated topics in high school. Although boring to some, math is as equally important to learn as it is mind boggling.
