Letter from the governor: "Prevention of infant deaths and hospitalizations due to pertussus"
To protect your newborns: All newborn families get pertussus vaccines (Tdap or DTaP) if you have not yet done so; let infants get DTaP shot on time at 2,4,and 6 months old well cehck-up visits. 
New vitamin D recommendations from American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Oct, 2008:
“ All infants, children, adolescents should get at least 400IU a day.” The revised guidelines recommend “Breast and partially breastfed infants be supplemented with 400 IU per day of vitamin D starting within the first few days of life.”, which replaced a previous guideline that recommended for a minimum daily intake of 200 IU of vitamin D starting in the first two months of life.”
